Myrrh Resin
1 oz Myrrh Resin. This resin is used for protection, healing and spirituality. Myrrh is a natural resin extracted from a small, thorny desert tree, Commiphora myrrha. It has been used throughout history as a perfume, an incense, and as a medicine. Myrrh was also mixed with wine commonly across ancient cultures - for general pleasure and as an analgesic. Myrrh is extracted by piercing the bark of the tree and returning later to collect the pieces of dried sap. True to Myrrh’s reputation as a funerary herb, these pieces are sometimes called “tears.” Myrrh is one of the sacred incenses of the Bible and is said to represent Christ's suffering. As an incense, Myrrh can lead to a very deep and powerful healing meditation, though Myrrh is rarely used alone. Its properties can change based on what it is used in conjunction with. A powerful pair is Frankincense and Myrrh.
Burn the resin:
To burn the dried resin use a small charcoal disc. Light the charcoal outside on a fire-proof dish and when it finishes smoking and sparking it should simply glow. Place 1 to 3 small pieces of resin on the charcoal and it will start to burn immediately. The resulting incense is pleasant and sweet and can be used to clear and purify the air.
