Palo Santo or "Holy Wood" is typically used to both cleanse the space as refill it with love and positive energy.  Palo Santo is a sacred wood that comes from the magical Palo Santo tree, native to the coast of South America.  Some people consider Sage to be a typical "eraser",  as it clears the space of any negativity or bad energy.  However, it is so important to replace that void with positivity, love and light and that is exactly what Palo Santo can do for you. The Palo Santo tree does not release its essence, or essential oil, until it has lain on the ground for at least 4 years after having died of natural causes. At this point the tree gives freely of its essential essences. Small communities in Peru gather sticks and branches of palo santo that have been laying on the ground for years which benefits many families who live in the central highlands of Peru.  This practice is heavily regulated by the government of Peru to make sure that the trees do not become over harvested or damaged.  

Our Palo Santo comes from a 50-acre farm in Ecuador that contains both replanted and naturally occurring Palo Santo trees.  The farm has replanted over 5000 Palo Santo trees on the land to date so that they can ensure adequate supplies of Palo Santo in the future.  

Palo Santo is a rich yellow wood that delivers a piney, citrusy, almost mint-like essence when burned.
